Repairing chipped laminate on an otherwise usable table

Our laminate table has a chipped front edge that catches on sleeves. The rest of the surface is fine, so replacing the table for a thumb-sized defect seems wasteful. I could fill and color-match the chip, then seal it, but I'm unsure which filler sticks to laminate rather than flaking out after a month. Has anyone made a durable, reasonably invisible repair on an edge that gets bumped constantly?

For laminate, I’d lean toward a hard filler rather than something soft and spongy. The edge is going to get bumped, so the repair has to survive abuse, not just look pretty on day one.

I’ve patched a few with color-matched repair putty and clear topcoat. Not invisible, but it held up better than the “wood filler on everything” approach.

I’m a little skeptical of trying to make it disappear completely. On a table edge that gets hit constantly, durable usually beats perfect.

That’s fair. I mostly want to stop snagging sleeves, but I’d love not to make it look worse in the process.
