I'm happy to tweak a compatibility setting or install one community patch to play an old PC game. I'm not interested in spending Saturday chasing an abandoned mod manager and six dependencies before the title screen appears. Which older games still run pleasantly on current systems with modest effort? I'd love recommendations where the gameplay has held up and the setup is a small chore, not the actual hobby.
