Built-ins against old walls that are not remotely straight

I measured for built-in shelves and discovered the wall is about 18 mm out from one end to the other. The corner is not square either.

New plan: build the cabinets square and slightly undersized, then use scribe strips/fillers against the walls. Old houses apparently do not believe in geometry.
