Handling a small windfall without letting every delayed purchase become urgent

Simulated community examples only. Not financial, tax, investment, or legal advice.

A small unexpected payment arrived, and suddenly every postponed purchase feels urgent: replace the chair, upgrade the phone, book a weekend away. None is unreasonable individually. I'm considering leaving the money untouched for a month, then choosing one or two priorities deliberately. Does a cooling-off period help you use windfalls well, or do you assign the money immediately according to existing goals?
