Keeping a game night moving when one player analyzes every turn

One friend in our group studies every possible move while the rest of us wait. They're thoughtful, not trying to dominate, and I don't want to embarrass them with a timer on the table. But a game advertised as an hour can take two. Have you found gentle ways to keep turns moving—simultaneous planning, a different game style, or simply an agreed expectation before we start?

We had one player who was just much slower on decision-heavy games, so we switched to lighter stuff on weeknights. Nobody felt singled out and the night actually ended before midnight.
